I have been to many chip shops in my time. Running a chip shop needs skills and these guys have them. They have special deals on every day. My favourite being the half price kebab, lush. Comes big and fresh with all salad. A nice clean chippy with no smoking going off, you need to give them a try. Tell em “Chippy John” sent you 😉- Food

I’m currently living in Taiwan, but I’ve decided to write a review for this fish and chip shop because I’m originally from Nottingham. When I lived there, I stayed in Carlton Hill with my family, and the food from this place suddenly came to mind, which shows just how memorable it is.
I used to go there regularly, and I can honestly say they serve not only the best fish and chips I’ve ever had but also the best kebabs. Everything is always freshly cooked, generously portioned, and full of flavour. The fish is perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and flaky inside, and the kebabs are outstanding. They are juicy, well-seasoned, and never greasy.
What makes this place even better is the warm and friendly service. The owner and his son are always welcoming and kind, and they create a real sense of community. You can tell they truly care about the food they serve and the people they serve it to.
As soon as I move back to Nottingham, this will be the first place I visit. I genuinely miss it.- Noise level

My first time visiting England, I was told this place was the proper Fish n Chips experience. Fresh batter, fresh fish, chips were hot with some being crisp and others being soft. Flavor was spot on and to top it off, Jack was engaging with some great English humor. I’d give this place a 10/5 stars if I could.

My Nan ordered 18 portions of fish & chip for collection for a family get together today. The food was ready on time, the fish was fresh & the batter was lovely & crispy. All of the food was hot & the service was fantastic. For such a large order you would be concerned about potential issues or missed food but everything was great, as ordered & no missing items. Deffo the best chip shop around Carlton!

This is in my opinion one of the best chip shops I've visited. I go often for the kebabs and chicken nuggets for my daughter. Food is fresh, big portions and really tasty. The owner and staff are great, really friendly. Remember to take cash when visiting. 10/10

I accidentally discovered this little gem a few years ago. I had been using my local chippy who are very decent to be fair. But it doesn't match up to the value and taste. I tell everyone about it. I travel 2 miles out of my way ,but it's genuinely worth it. Cash only people.

Seriously you cannot beat OCEANS for quality and excellent value for money. .times are hard and to still do fish and chips for under £6 is incredible, this was the fish size (more like a large) . Give it a try I’m sure you’ll be impressed. Fish cooked fresh to order and lovely big white pieces of fish. Visited 1st Ictober 25 .definitely recommend the kebabs also have offers on every so often where there half price 👍

Honestly one of the best fish and chips I have had if not the best the fish was so soft and nice crispy batter can literally hold it in your hand and not fall apart. Chips were great not soggy at all and great texture will be back again.

I went last night to get 3 fish and chips everything came fresh as can be was still hot when I arrived home , the service from all 3 gentleman behind the counter was great they was all polite and we had a little laugh but overall experience been here 2 times and I will definitely be making it my normal chippy, if your ever in the area or visiting Nottingham and look for a cheap cheerful chippy I recommend oceans Carlton hill thanks guys
